Robert “Bob” Skirvin
Robert E. Skirvin, 92, of Whitehouse, Ohio passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Whitehouse Country Manor. Bob was born to Fred and Ferbia (Shields) Skirvin on April 25, 1919 in Monroe County, Indiana. Before retirement in 1984, Bob was a truck driver, owned a Shell service station and ran his own automotive garage. Bob was married to Louise (McLaughlin) and together they raised three children. He enjoyed a simple life, spending time with family, passing time working in their yard or just sitting around.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Louise; their children: Danny (Bonnie) Skirvin, Scott Skirvin and Marc (Marcy) Skirvin; grandchildren, Sean (Lilly), Michael (Sara) and Miranda Skirvin. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law and best friend Farrell McLaughlin.
Friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel Wynn at Pickle Rd. (419) 693-9304, on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Willow Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Toledo or the Hospice of N.W. Ohio.
