Robert E. Phillips, Sr., 78, of Oregon, Ohio passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 17, 2014. He was born in Toledo on June 28, 1935 to Robert H. and Marie V. (Crandall) Phillips and was a 1953 graduate of Clay High School. Bob was an U.S. Army veteran who for over 30 years worked as a glass worker for L.O.F. He served on the Oregon School Board, a member of GBU #510 and was a 32nd degree Mason with the Paragon Lodge No. 788 F. & A.M.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Phyllis E. Phillips; sons, Robert E. (Brenda L.) Phillips, Jr., Thomas H. (Karis) Phillips and Brian J. (Deborah) Phillips; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and his extended family, Jack, Sandee, Marcia, Denny and Paulette. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and infant son, Scott K. Phillips.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel on Sunday, June 22, 2014 from 2-8 p.m. where a Masonic Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Willow Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Senior Independence Hospice.
