A beloved husband, dad, papa, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully at Hospice of N.W. Ohio on Sunday, December 28, 2014 after a three year journey with brain stem cancer.  His wife, son and sister were at his side.

Robert Stephen Molnar, of Oregon, was born August 14, 1942 in Detroit, MI to Steve and Josephine (Mikus) Molnar.  He graduated from Good Shepherd Elementary, Macomber High School, Class of 1960, and attended the University of Toledo.

On May 15, 1965, Bob married Carol-Ann Richardson at St. Ignatius Church.  They had one son, Robert Stephen II.

At the age of 15 Bob went to work at Walter’s Drug Store on Oak Street in East Toledo serving up ice cream sodas and manning the cash register.  He subsequently held positions on the C&O Railroad and at Toledo Scale.  Bob retired from the City of Toledo, Collins Park Water Treatment Plant in 2003 after 38 years of service.

Bob worked crossword puzzles in ink including the venerable New York Times edition.  He was an avid reader of diverse materials and diligently followed the Stock Market.  Alpine Skiing was his favorite personal sport and Horse Racing, especially thoroughbreds, was his personal favorite spectator sport.
In 2009 Bob fulfilled a life-long goal of hiking a part of the Appalachian Trail with his son Rob.  In 2010 he and Carol-Ann traveled to Alaska to celebrate their 45th Wedding Anniversary fulfilling another goal.
Bob is pre-deceased by: his parents Steve and Josephine Molnar, in-laws Helen and Dale Richardson, and brothers-in-law Gary Mills and Ed Richardson.  He is survived by his wife Carol-Ann, son Robert and daughter-in-law Karla Molnar of Lebanon PA., grandchildren:  Aleksandr Molnar of Philadelphia PA., Rebekah Molnar of Milwaukee WI. Lauren Gramby and Dianna Capobianco of Lebanon PA., great-granddaughters:  Amiyrah and Cianna Gramby of Lebanon PA., sisters:  Patricia Mills of Rossford, Joann (Michael) Nichpor of Perrysburg and sister-in-law Janet Richardson of Pemberville as well as aunts, nieces, nephews and 4 god-children.

The family would like to thank the Cancer Center at St. Charles Hospital, Arbors of Oregon-Willows, St. Vincent’s Hospital 5th floor Neuro ward and Hospice of NW Ohio, Perrysburg for the care and comfort you afforded Bob.  A special thank you to Diane Holman Bob’s faithful, visiting nurse.

As per Bob’s wishes, services will be private with arrangements by Freck Funeral Chapel, Oregon.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to: Hospice of NW Ohio, the Oregon City Schools Foundation, The Helen M. Richardson memorial Scholarship at Clay High School, the Cherry Street Mission or a charity of the donor’s choice.
