Robert "Hunky" Micenic

July 20, 1939 — January 16, 2022

Robert R. Micenic, 82, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Bay Park Community Hospital.  He was born on July 20, 1939 in Toledo, Ohio to Adam and Anna Micenic.  Robert was a 1957 graduate of Waite High School and was inducted into the Waite High School Hall of Fame as well as the Birmingham Hall of Fame.  Bob served in the U.S. Army, before joining the Toledo Fire Department.  He retired in 1990 after 25 years of service working out of station 13 & 6.  Bob was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church, lifetime member of AMVETS, and a social member of V.F.W. #4906.  He enjoyed golfing and was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Detroit Tigers, and Notre Dame.  He will be dearly missed.

Robert is survived by his son, Alan (Geri) Micenic; special companion, Irene Csanyi; grandchildren, Jessica, Jamie, and Jennifer; stepdaughter, Jenny (Bob) Wrasman; stepson, Jeff (Ann) Baldwin; step grandchildren, Cody, Shannon, Kyle (Josie), and Devon (Elizabeth); and great-grandchildren, Sarah, Morgan, Wyatt, Payton, and Skylar.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Sunday, January 23, 2022, from 2-8:00 p.m. where the last alarm service will take place at 7:00 p.m.  Those attending must wear a mask.  The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at St. Stephen Catholic Church where family will greet guests after 9:30 a.m.  Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Toledo Fire Museum.  Due to the current Covid spike, a celebration of life will be held at a later time.
