Robert J. Edwards, 72, of Oregon, Ohio died peacefully on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at the Lutheran Home at Toledo. He was born on April 26, 1940 to Raymond A. and Gladys Mae (Wainscott) Edwards. Bob was the 2nd of nine children. He served in the National Guard Army Reserves before starting his career at Chrysler-Toledo Machining in Perrysburg, retiring after 30+ years of service. Bob was a volunteer at the Bayview Retirees Golf Club for many years.
In his spare time he loved golfing, camping, fishing, tending to his roses and taking trips to the casinos. But most of all he loved spending time with friends and his family especially his grandkids and attending their sporting events.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Anne; son, Robert “Bob” (Tina) Edwards Jr. and grandchildren: Ceara and Robby. He is also survived by special extended family, Neal, Julie, Logan and Rylee Chancey; sister, Bonnie (Hal) Dugger; brothers, Charles (Kathy) Edwards Sr., Terry Edwards Sr. and George (Pam) Edwards along with many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Raymond Edwards Jr., Goldie Mae Maze (Sis), Patsy Burden and Joan Clevenger.
Family and friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Sunday, June 24, 2012 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
