Robert J. “Bo” Comer, age 64, of Oregon passed away Monday, August 18, 2014 in his home, surrounded by his family. He was born October 22, 1949 in Toledo to Richard and Clara (Peters) Comer. Robert served his country proudly while enlisted in the U.S. Army, 25th Infantry Division during the Vietnam War, receiving several medals including the Purple Heart. He was a retired Chrysler Toledo Machining worker where he was employed 37 ½ years. In his spare time he enjoyed watching Sports, particularly Michigan football. Robert was a people person and touched many lives he will be dearly missed.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Comer. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Janet Comer; sons, Steve Poulson and Joe Comer; daughters, Dawn Comer, Crystal Keller and Casandra Comer; grandchildren, Joey II, Cody, Ashyln, Alexis (Lexi), Joshua, Ryan, Kayla, Kendall and Hannah; siblings, Jim, Richy, Candy, Alice and Jerry.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd. Oregon, OH, on Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 2-8 p.m. where a veteran’s service will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. in the funeral chapel on Friday. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund.
