Robert G. Byers

Robert G. Byers age 90, of Toledo, passed away at Bay Park Community Hospital on April 28, 2020. He was born to George and Anna Mae (Eisel) Byers on December 11, 1929 in Toledo, Ohio. Robert worked for many years at Lott Industries. He was a Christian and knew the Lord. Bob enjoyed singing in the choir at church. He loved fishing and family card games.  He would ride his bike many miles to visit friends and family. Bob had many other interests and a keen memory.  He and his special friend Susie had a deep affection for each other, she preceded him in death in 2019. Robert was handicapped by dementia in his last years and was cared for at The Franciscan Center by their skillful staff.  Bob was gifted with extraordinary memory and could quote statistics of things of interest. He was friendly, loving and a joy to have around. We will miss seeing his smile and hearing something he thought was funny.  Bob was a strong man and was always ready to help others. He lived with his maternal grandmother to keep her company until her death. Others remember his big smile and how he loved to joke.  Robert overcame many obstacles always coming out the victor.

Cousin Donna Jean Spicer lost her life a few months ago. Cousins remaining include Suzanne Studyvin, Denise Brynes, Sharon Mason, and Robin Rokosky who often visited him.

At this time, we celebrate the fact that he is in heaven where his family reunion will be taking place. Services for Robert will be private. Burial will be held at Toledo Memorial Park.
