Robert L. Bird, 79, of Toledo, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Toledo on May 22, 1933, to Walter and Doris (Bell) Bird. Robert was a factory worker at Dura for 10 years and married Beverly A. Stahl on April 25, 1977. In his spare time, Robert enjoyed working in the yard and traveling, especially to Houghton Lake. Out of all the joys in his life, he cherished the times spent with his family most of all.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Beverly; children, Dorothy, Melanie (Robert) Pennington, Timothy (Jennifer) Bird, Wayne Morris, Sandy (Steven) Wilder, Scott Morris, Lori (Ronald) Byram, Christine (Victor) Stewart, Lisa (Tony) Bird, Sharon (Robert) Evans, Jennifer (Milo) Price and Barbara Bird; thirty-three grandchildren, forty-five great-grandchildren and brother, Eugene Hilborne. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert Bird, Jr.; grandson, Demitrius McCreary; sisters, Betty and Melba and brother, Donald.
Friends and family may visit from 2-8 on Thursday, May 16, 2013 in the Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon, Ohio where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
