Robert Francis Bihn, 87, of Northwood, OH, passed away Monday, March 7, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Born on February 13, 1929, Bob was the oldest of thirteen children of Lawrence J. and Olive (Busson) Bihn.  He graduated in 1947 from Lake High School and was senior class president. Bob served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and later was employed by Libbey-Owens-Ford Glass Co. for 38 years, retiring in 1988. He married Mary Ellen Barry on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 1954 and she survives.

Also surviving are his children Mary Susan (William) Mercer, Robert L. (fiancée Rosanna Strickland) Bihn, Teresa (Steven) Fillmore, Jane (Richard Perse) Bihn and Karl (Mary Jo Wagner) Bihn; grandchildren Martin (Katie), David, Billy, Mary K., Brett, Mark, John, Matthew, Clara and Andrew;  brothers Gerald (Mary Ann), Raymond (Helen), Lawrence A., James (Jean) and Eugene (Amy) Bihn;  sisters Norma (Richard) Cuprak, Rita Bates, Ann (Warren) Keeler, Carolyn (Ronald) Bosse and Judith Bihn; sister-in-law Mary Alice Bihn; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Andrew and Milo Bihn.

Bob was an active member of the Lake Township Ageless Wonders and the Walbridge Senior Center and was a volunteer lay minister at Orchard Villa in Oregon. He enjoyed western round and square dancing, gardening, fishing, solving crossword puzzles, playing cards and baking with homegrown apples.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd, Oregon on Sunday, March 13, 2016 from 2  to 8 pm with the Rosary recited at 4pm and a Prayer Vigil at 7pm.  Visitation will continue on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 10am at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Warner Street, Walbridge, OH where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11am with Interment to follow at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jerome Catholic Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
