ROBERT ARMSTRONG
Three days after a wonderful bash celebrating the 60th anniversary of his marriage to Jerry, Bob Armstrong left this world at age 79. Bob was very proud of his family and expressed his pride regularly to each of his surviving kin including children Rob (Susan), Mike (Laura), and Kris (Howie). Bob and Jerry were loved and entertained by seven grandchildren Gwen (Andy), Chris (Sarah), Brad (Sherri), Bill (Stephanie), Ken (Sarah), Cari (Ben), and Rachel (Mike). Bob and Jerry delighted in their great-grandchildren Vince, Lily, Mia, Sam, Ella, Nick, Jonathan and Alyssa. He is also survived by brother Jim (Donna), sister Donna and brother-in-law, Burt.
Bob worked in operations and as a pipefitter for 32 years at the Sun Oil Refinery, enjoying bowling and winters in SW Florida after his retirement in 1990. Bob was a familiar sight, riding his bike throughout the Oregon country side. His grandchildren remember him for the wonderful camping, fishing and gardening experiences he introduced them to.
Services will be private. Memorial gifts may be made to Faith United Methodist Church, 3415 Starr Avenue, Oregon, Ohio 43616. Arrangements were entrusted to Freck Funeral Chapel.
