Robert D. Andrews age 71 of Northwood passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio-Perrysburg. Robert was born to Milton and Phoebe (Miller) Andrews Sr. on July 15, 1952 in Toledo, Ohio. He was a 1970 graduate of Clay High School and went on to serve our country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. After the war, Robert returned home and began working for Champion Spark Plug and moved to Burlington, Iowa when the Toledo Plant closed and continued working with Champion until his retirement in the late 90s. Robert was an outdoorsman and a Mr. Fixit. He enjoyed hunting, was a commercial airplane pilot, loved taking his Harley out for a ride, and played guitar for many bands over the years. His motto was “When I do it, I do it right and move on”.
Robert is survived by his brother Milton Clarence (Beverly) Andrews Jr.; niece Barbara (Scott) Wilson; nephew Steven Andrews; great nieces and nephews Grace (Tyler), Anna, Gwen, Andrew, Griffin, Owen, Harper, Jarrett, and Logan; great-great niece Isabella; special friends Ed, Susan, Matt, Diana, and special cousin Karen. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother Milton Myron Andrews.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S Wynn Rd in Oregon from 4 until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions are appreciated to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
