Rita C. Hanely, 91 years, of Walbridge, Ohio formerly of Oregon, Ohio passed away on February 2, 2012 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio-Perrysburg. Rita was born September 29, 1920 to John and Theresa Hoffman in Toledo, Ohio. She attended Sacred Heart School and Waite High School and was a member of Sacred Heart Church. She married Clell D. Hanely on December 23, 1943 he preceded her in death on June 13, 1998. Rita was a clerical clerk at Mercy St. Vincent’s Medical Center retiring in 1983. Rita enjoyed traveling with her husband, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, father and mother, sisters; Mary Catherine Hoffman, Virgina Kunich, and Eunice Buschmann. Surviving are her son; Douglas (Susan) Hanely, grandsons; Jason (Melissa) and Joseph (Mary Dunn), sister; Rose Marie (Gerald) Dreier, brother; Jack (Janice) Hoffman, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Sunday, February 5, 2012 from 2-8 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
