Richard E. Wetzel, IV, 18, of Genoa, Ohio passed away November 27, 2012, at Mercy-St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Richie was born in Oregon, Ohio on August 10, 1994 to Richard E. Wetzel III and Mildred I. Fox. He was 2012 graduate of Genoa High School where he ran cross country. Richie was currently employed with Blue Beacon Truck Wash and in his spare time, he enjoyed riding bikes, snowmobiling and collecting dragons.
Richie is survived by his father, Richard; mother, Mildred (Jeff ) Rupp; Siblings, Nick Fox, Krystianna (Joe) Daniel, Jonathan Wetzel, Laryssa Rupp and Wyatt Wetzel; grandparents, Jennifer Wetzel, Carol and Jim Doty; great-grandfather, Paul Ackerman along with many dear aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and special cousin, Haley. Richie was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Richard E. Wetzel, Jr. and James R. Fox; brother, Eddie Wetzel; aunt, Jessika Fox and great-grandmother, Lois Deimling.
Family and friends may visit from 2 - 8 p.m. on Sunday and Monday in the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon where the funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2012. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions can be made to Life Connections of Northwest Ohio.
