RICHARD A. RODRIGUEZ
Richard A. Rodriguez, 46, of Oregon, Ohio has ran the race of life and was greeted in heaven by his King, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, March 21, 2015. He was born in Oregon on May 19, 1968 to Aurora and Peter P. Rodriguez, Sr.
He was a 1986 graduate of Clay High School and also was a graduate of the Healing Arts Institute in Perrsyburg. He co-owned and operated Massage in Motion where he used his spiritual healing gift travelling with the BGSU swim and volleyball teams and caring for various NFL athletes. Richard was employed by Autoneum in Oregon. He was a faithful member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church where he had worked in maintenance. Richard was also musically gifted and a self taught guitarist. He was a highly decorated tri-athlete. He also enjoyed competing in many races with his best friend, Steve Materni.
Richard is survived by his loving mother, Aurora; daughters, Nina Sadie and Sophia Catherine Rodriguez; siblings, Frances (Paul) Price, Peter (Cindy) Rodgriguez, Jr., Marcella (Ezekiel) Gonzalez, Pamela (Kyle) Newton; life companion, Melody DeMars and former wife, Andrea Rodriguez along with many dear nieces, nephews and 3 great-nieces and nephews. He is also survived by several adoring aunts, uncles and cousins. Richard was preceded in death by his father; grandparents and other special family members.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd, Oregon, on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 from 2-8 p.m. with a service to begin at 6:00 p.m. which will include the recitation of the Rosary. The Funeral Service will begin with Prayers in the funeral home at 9 a.m. on Thursday with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 a.m. at Epiphany of the Lord Parish – St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made directly to Aurora Rodriguez to establish a fund for his girls, Nina and Sophie.
