Richard H. Lasater, 83, formerly of Oregon, OH passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 in Elgin, IL. He was born on September 20, 1931 in Toledo to Claud and Esther Lasater. Richard was a 1951 graduate of Waite High School and worked as coke cutter for B.P.-Standard Oil and as a polisher for L.O.F. He was a member of Heritage Christian Church where he was involved in the Senior Group. Richard also ran a ceramic shop with his wife, called Sally’s Ceramics.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Sally Lasater; children: Deborah (Michael) Ryan, Gary (Teresa) Lasater and Brad (Melinda) Lasater; 4 grandchildren and his sister, Dorothy (John) Lamprost. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gayland Lasater.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd, Oregon, on Sunday, March 1, 2015 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Lake Twp. Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Christian Church.
