Richard E. Gladieux

Richard E. Gladieux, age 91, of Curtice, Ohio passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024 at his home surrounded by family.  He was born on March 30, 1932 in Toledo, Ohio to Elmer and Leona (Busson) Gladieux.  He was a 1951 graduate of Clay High School.  Dick proudly served in the U.S. Air Force in England.  He worked as an electrical mechanic for 39 years with Toledo Edison, retiring in 1990.  Dick married his wife Judith on August 16, 1958, she preceded him in death in 2019.  He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church where he volunteered as an usher and Eucharistic Minister.  Dick served the Millbury community as a volunteer Fireman, City Council Member, and Town Marshall.

Richard is survived by his children, Julie (Robert) Stausmire, James (Rhonda) Gladieux, Bryan (Deborah) Gladieux, Robert Gladieux; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Thomas (Barbara) Gladieux; and sisters, Shirley Cabla, Carol (Tim) Lannen, Virginia (Gilbert) Lowder, and JoAnne (David) Luoma.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judith; and brother-in-law, Joseph Cabla.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 5-9:00 p.m.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Bono, OH. Additional visitation will be held at church from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday morning.  Burial will follow at Lake Township Cemetery.  Memorial contributions can be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church or Cherry Street Mission.
