Richard A. Garber, Sr.

Richard Amos Garber, Sr., 81, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Orchard Villa Care Center.  He was born on November 3, 1939 in Toledo, Ohio to Amos and Edith Garber.  Richard worked as a custodian for over 25 years for Toledo Public Schools.  He was an avid camper, bowler, and NASCAR fan.  In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, boating, and playing backyard sports with his children.  He will be dearly missed.

Richard is survived by his children, Marvin Garber, Tina (Frank) Piloseno, Laurie (Joseph) Walkowiak, Melinda Garber, and Kevin (Joni) Garber; 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Cookie) Garber; and sisters, Dorothy Wilson, and Suzanne Frantz.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Richard Jr., Randall, and Gail; daughter, Wanda Mays; grandson, Anthony Morgan and many brothers and sisters.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Sunday, May 2, 2021, from 2-8:00 p.m.  Services will be held on Monday in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.  Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
