Richard E. Black, age 38, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Friday, September 23, 2011 at the University of Toledo Medical Center. He was born on April 15, 1973 in Toledo, Ohio to Charles Black Jr. and Rae Anne Black. Rick worked as a tow truck driver and repo man for many years with Jet Towing and was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed watching the Washington Redskins and Chicago Blackhawks. Rick played semi-professional football for the Toledo Seminoles/Tomahawks. He was known as “Big Rick”. Rick loved spending time with his daughters and was very proud of them.
Richard is survived by his loving daughters, Ricki Jean Black, Terra Jane Cheatham and Erin-Nicole Marie Black; father and step-mother, Charles Jr. and Therese Black; mother, Rae Anne Black; sister, Michelle Black; half sister, Rachel Blake; niece, Jordan Williams; nephew, Michael Dymarkowski; friend and mother of his children, Helen (Tim) Boggs. He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Black and grandparents, Charles Sr. and Edna Black and Roger and Gloria Hoy.
Family and friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday in the funeral home at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Richard’s daughters, c/o Charles Black Jr.
