Raymond And Luisa Davis

Rev. Raymond Davis and Dr. Luisa “Hebe” Davis have both passed and are now with their Creator in Heaven. Hebe unexpectedly passed on November 24, 2021, at the age of 87. Pastor Ray left us on March 30, 2022, he was 84.  Ray was born in Birmingham, England and at 16, he joined the British Merchant Marines, wanting to see the world. After a few years, and falling ill with appendicitis, the ship he was on docked in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was rushed to the British Hospital for an appendectomy. His nurse was a beautiful young Christian Argentine charge RN named Luisa who converted Ray to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

They fell in love (which continued for 67 years), were married 3 years later & immigrated to the USA. Ray attended Grace College and Seminary & briefly taught Speech at Grace College. Along with their 2 sons, they served as missionaries in several foreign countries & after 5 years, returned to the USA where they pastored several churches and subsequently retired.  Along the way, Hebe received her PhD in Christian Counseling & Ray served on the Board of Trustees at Grace. They both touched thousands of lives during their 50+ years ministry & will be deeply missed by many.

They are survived by many relatives in England and Argentina.  In the USA, immediate relatives include their sons, Kenneth and Mark & Hebes younger sister Martha & her husband Thomas Goossens, along with their children Lydia and Daniel.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Friday, April 15th from 10:00-12:00 p.m. where services will be held at 12:00 p.m.  Burial will follow at Lake Twp. Cemetery.
