Ray was born Dec. 5,1935 at home in Toledo, Ohio to Raymond E and Mary (Kevill) Fackelman and entered into His Well Earned Eternal Reward on Tuesday Feb. 26, 2013 at St. Charles Mercy Hospital in Oregon, Ohio.
Ray was Baptized and laid on the main altar and Dedicated to Our Blessed Mother at Rosary Cathedral Church on Dec. 8, 1935, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. He attended Rosary Cathedral Grade School eight years and Central Catholic High School where he graduated in 1953. He also attended Stautzenberger Business College where he received a "degree" in accounting.
Ray was a resident of the Lutheran Home of Toledo for the past 13 years where he was loved and admired by many of the same staff that was there when he originally moved in. The family is most grateful to Lutheran Home for their care and kindness of "our brother" for those many years.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his sisters, Mary (Eugene) Zapadka, Barbara (David) Banaszak, Geri (Richard) Medary and brother, John Patrick (Becky) Fackelman.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral on Monday March 4, 2013 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Tom Oedy presiding. Viewing and Rosary will be one hour before the service and the Burial will be private for the family.
