Raymond Joseph Bosch, age 84, of Oregon, Ohio passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, April 3, 2015. Ray was born on February 11, 1931 in Oregon, Ohio to Joseph and Norma (Huber) Bosch.  Ray, also known as Louie, worked for the City of Oregon as a heavy equipment operator for 35 years until he retired. He was a member of the 2510 V.F.W. post as well as the American Legion Dunberger Post. Ray was also a member of the N.R.A. and Ottawa River Yacht Club.

He loved spending time with his family and friends, as well as gardening, boating, fishing and hunting. Rays garden was always full of vegetables during harvest season which he happily shared. His clubhouse was always open for a few beers and storytelling with anyone who stopped by to visit. He was a loving son, brother and the entertaining uncle for his many nieces and nephews who looked up to him. Ray wasn’t a man who would say he loved you, but rather a good man who proved it to you. He caringly served and blessed those around him humbly and quietly so as to avoid any recognition for himself. He exemplified what it meant to be a man of action and compassion, to serve and not be served, not only in times of convenience but times of war. Ray served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a combat medic on the front lines. He received 3 Bronzes Stars while doing so. Proud of and loyal to our country and all of our service men and women, Ray joined other veterans on Honor Flight to visit the war memorials in Washington D.C.

Ray joined his parents, brother and sister-in-law, Kenny (Delores) St. Germain, brother-in-law, Frank Hasapes, niece and nephew, Christy and David Bosch. He leaves behind his sister, Doris Hasapes, brother, Ronald (Mary Jo) Bosch Sr., numerous nieces, nephews and many treasured friends.

We will miss you Louie and never forget the lessons you taught us, the laughs we shared and the amazing man you were. We love you and are forever grateful.

Arrangements are being handled by the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd., Oregon. There will be a memorial visitation at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 729 White St., Toledo, OH, on Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 10 to 11 a.m., a memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
