Phillip Harry Laplante

Phillip Harry LaPlante, age 88 or Oregon, Ohio passed away at Oregon Healthcare on Tuesday, February 9, 2021. Phillip was born to Raymond Joseph and Naomi (Peoples) LaPlante in Toledo, Ohio on May 15, 1932. Phillip served our country in the U.S. Army. He graduated from the then Toledo University in 1954 and worked for many years as a chemical engineer. Phillip retired from Delford Industries in Middletown, NY. He married the love of his life Agnes Mary (Camp) on October 29, 1966. She preceded him in death on November 18, 2020.

Phillip loved baseball and basketball. He enjoyed going to Mud Hens games and coached CYO basketball teams. Phillip also enjoyed photography. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus St Jerome Council #11450 and the Bishop Hoffman Assembly #807 as well as a member of the Christ Dunberger American Legion #537.

Phillip is survived by his daughter Lucinda (Kevin) Bolinger; grandchildren Alex, Danny, Kara, and Brian; sisters JoAnne Pawloski and Carol Morgan; and brother John (Judy) LaPlante. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his sisters Nancy Gonia and Lois Tate and brothers-in-law Robert Tate and Ronald Morgan.

Friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel in Oregon, Ohio on Sunday, February 14, 2021, from 2 until 8 p.m. with Knight of Columbus service at 7 p.m.  A funeral Mass will be held at Epiphany of Our Lord –St. Thomas 729 White St. in Toledo on Monday, February 15, 2021, at 11 a.m.where the family will receive friends one hour before service. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
