Peter John Gabel

Peter “Pete” John Gabel, age 48, of Toledo, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, March 3, 2025. Pete was born to Joe and Karen (Connerton) Gabel on April 16, 1976, in Long Beach, CA. Pete grew up in Michigan and loved sports. He was a Lions, Michigan, and Nascar fan all his life. He loved to fish, grill, go to the park, work in his yard, eat sugar, and stroll a good clearance aisle at the store. He was family-oriented and loved spending time with his boys, Jaxon and Lincoln. Recently, his boys got him into Roblox, which he really enjoyed. Pete was a machine operator for Crown, Cork, and Seal here in Toledo. 

Pete is survived by his wife of 15 years Amy; children Savannah (Cole Dalton) Shook, Zoey Shook, Jaxon Gabel, and Lincoln Gabel; step-children Kyle (Jasmine) Burghardt and Kyla (Ali) El Khechen; grandchild A.J.; father Joe; siblings Veronica (Steven Ball) Gabel, Jason (Shawn Collins) Gabel, Lane (Jennifer) Gabel, and Angela Gabel; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Karen Gabel, grandmother Beverly Connerton, and aunt Sharon Shook.

A visitation will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S Wynn Rd in Oregon, Ohio on Sunday, March 9, 2025, from 2 until 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions are appreciated to the family.
