Paul W. Lickert, 78, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at his home. He was born August 9, 1936 in Oregon, Ohio to Emmitt and Ella (Zeller) Lickert and began his career as a carpenter at the age of 16. He continued working as a carpenter with OCP thru Local 248 for many years building the UT Stadium, many local hospitals and shopping malls. He was a faithful member of Lewis Avenue Baptist Church where he was in charge of building State Line Christian High School. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Georgeanne Lickert; sons, David Glenn Lickert and his family and Timothy Paul (Tammy) Lickert; daughter, Wendy Michele (Larry) Simons; grandsons, Roy (Michelle) Simons and A.J. Simons and great-grandsons, Jared and Garrett Simons. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd, Oregon, from 2-8 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2015. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. on Monday at the Lewis Avenue Baptist Church where the Funeral Service will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Allen Twp Cemetery in Williston. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lewis Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund, 6320 Lewis Avenue, Temperance, MI 48182.
