Paul Gerard Gladieux

Paul Gerard Gladieux, age 30, of Northwood, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on September 24, 2023. Paul will forever be remembered for his kind heart, his dedication to preserving the environment, and his passion for sports and music. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Paul attended Clay High School, graduating in 2011, and furthered his education at The University of Toledo, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science in 2016. He embarked on his career by working for the Metroparks of Toledo before joining the Wood County Park District. Most recently, he found fulfillment in learning about and beautifying park areas with the Sandusky County Park District.

Paul was an environmentalist who found joy in working outdoors and restoring the beauty of nature. He had a passion for gardening and recently planted a native butterfly garden for his parents, using the opportunity to teach them about the plants and share his love for the environment. Paul also had a deep love for sports and was an avid fan of the Dallas Mavericks, Atlanta Braves, and Cincinnati Bengals. In addition, he was a talented bowler, having bowled five perfect 300 games in his young life. Music was also a significant part of Paul's life, and he enjoyed both listening to and playing various instruments, many of which he taught himself.

Paul had a special place in his heart for his beloved cat, Oliver who he rescued and cared for over the past few years. He provided a loving home for Oliver and in return, Oliver was a friend and companion for Paul.

Paul will be deeply missed by his parents, Paula (Kessler) and Gerard (Jerry) Gladieux, his sister Amanda (Brandon), his grandmother Margaret Kessler, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Paul Kessler, grandparents Leo and Anna Gladieux, his uncle Dan Gladieux, and his best friend James (JB) Schwed.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel, located at 1155 S. Wynn Road, Oregon, Ohio, on Sunday, October 1st, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, October 2nd, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, located at 212 N. Stadium Road, Oregon, Ohio. Prayers will commence at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Following the Mass, Paul will be laid to rest in St. Ignatius Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations in Paul's memory be made to either the Sandusky County Park District for White Star or Paws & Whiskers, a no-kill feline shelter. Contributions made to these organizations will honor Paul's love for nature and his compassion for animals.
