Patricia Ann Boerst

Patricia Ann Boerst, 77, of Toledo OH passed away at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, OH on August 13, 2024. She was born to Carroll W. and Rosellen on July 26, 1947 in Lewiston, Maine. She lived in Mechanic Falls until the age of 3, at which point her family relocated to Curtice, OH.  Patricia then would go on to marry Dennis Boerst and they would be married in 1967. They would raise four children together and celebrate 57 years of marriage before her passing.

Patricia was the owner and operator of Aquarium East pet store for 30 years. She also served as a carrier for the Metro Press for several years. Patricia enjoyed motorcycles, hunting, fishing, and archery. She enjoyed crafts and was known for crocheting a variety of projects including potholders and blankets. Quilting was another hobby of hers and this allowed her to make quilts and teddy bears for children with cancer as a member of the East Toledo Senior Center. She was also involved with the senior activities group at Pearson Park. Patricia was an avid stamp collector, as well as pennies, and was a member of the Toledo Stamp Collecting club as well. She and Dennis were movie buffs, often visiting the theatre multiple times a week to enjoy films. Patricia found comfort in being able to help those stricken with cancer, she often would grow out her hair and donate it to Locks of Love throughout her life. She was an active woman, even in rough times, and will be missed greatly by those who knew her.

Left to cherish Patricia’s memory are her children, Robert (Michelle), Dennis Jr., Christopher (Kimberly), and Trisha (Paul) Mendoza; grandchildren, PJ, Kathryn, Breanne, Dennis the 3rd, Christopher Jr., Miranda, Adam, and Joseph, along with 4 great grandchildren and one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents Carrol and Rosellen, brother Larry, and sisters Alma, Pauline and Wilma. Arrangements are being handled by Freck Funeral Chapel.
