Ora Katherine Gaich, 86, of Curtice, Ohio passed away on Tuesday September 20, 2011 at St. Charles Hospital. She was born on August 12, 1925 in Iron City, Tennessee to Joseph and Magdalene (Rhodes) Lawson. Ora enjoyed cooking and gardening. She taught girls Sunday school at the First Baptist Church of Oregon and later in life attended East Toledo Baptist Church. She was known for her cookbook collection, but her true passion was spending time with her family.
Ora is survived by her children, Sharon D. Gaich and Sam E. Gaich; grandchildren, Joseph Shawn Lanham, Jeremy M. (Erin) Lanham, Jennine M. (Michael) Lewandowski, Nicole L. (Michael) Draper, Samantha A. Gaich, Zachary E. Gaich, Eli R. Gaich, Katherine R. Gaich, Zora D. Gaich, Kendra E. Sleesman and Bailey M. Sleesman; great grandchildren, Gavin Lewandowski, Jada Lewandowski, RaineyJaNae Lanham, Paxton Lanham, Isabella Lanham, Michael Draper II. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Gaich; parents; son, Joseph Roger Lanham; infant son, Larry R. Lanham; daughter in law, Janet Lanham; sisters, Matilda Bennett and Martha Lawson; brothers Johnny Scott, Emmett Lawson and Clarence Lawson and her best friend, Stella Culbertson.
Family and friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Sunday, September 25, 2011 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be private. Burial will be at Lake Township Cemetery.
