Olin Wellington Coutcher, age 86, of Oak Harbor passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022, at home. Olin was born on October 2, 1936, to Wellington and Doris (Harris) Coutcher in Toledo, Ohio. He grew up in Ironville and worked as a Union Boilermaker with the Local 85 for 45 years before retiring in 2001. The love of Olin’s life was his wife Barb who passed away in 2018, just shy of their 60th wedding anniversary. Olin was an outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish. Olin taught all his grandchildren how to fish. He was known in the Long Beach Association as a handyman who could fix or weld anything for neighbors and friends.
Olin is survived by his children, William (Linda) Coutcher, Rebakh (Mark) McGee, Christopher Coutcher, Kenneth (Julie) Coutcher, Brenda (Kelsey) Zeller; 18 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way; siblings Patricia (Roy) McAllister, Inez (Randy) Carter, Cyril Coutcher, Lyndon (Michelle) Coutcher, Gerald (Jeanne) Coutcher, Cheryl (Dwight) Sawyer and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Dan Coutcher, and siblings Arvilla Mercurio, Halsey Coutcher, and Ralph Coutcher.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, from 3-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Burial will follow in Williston Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
