Norman Anthony Hess

Norman Anthony Hess age 89, of Oregon, passed away July 10, 2020 peacefully at home. Norm was born to Edward J. and Anna M. (Drury) Hess in Ottawa, Illinois on May 27, 1931. He graduated from Perrysburg High School and attended BGSU. Norm served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Christ Dunberger American Legion. Norm retired from the Mold Shop at LOF. He married the love of his life, Judy (Enck) on February 7, 1970. Together they enjoyed travelling; especially to Florida and loved the ocean. Norm swam and played handball at the East YMCA. He loved to be outdoors; gardening, fishing, watching birds and bicycling. Norm was a devoted Catholic and member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Norm adored his family.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judy; children, Mike (Holly), Michele “Shelly” Wilbur and Melissa “Missy” (Matt) Kulwicki; grandchildren, Hannah, Tristan, Alec, Zach, Sydney, Jenna, Haley, Caitlyn, Olivia and Zavier; and a great-granddaughter, Ava. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sister; Ed, Betty, Wayne and Jerry.

Services will be private. A Mass and burial will be held at St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Memorial contributions are appreciated to St Ignatius or Promedica Hospice.  Arrangements are being handled by Freck Funeral Chapel.
