NETTIE L. (POLING) GARGAS
Nettie L. Gargas, 73, of Curtice, Ohio passed away at her home Thursday, February 13, 2014. She was born in Toledo on August 7, 1940 to Harry O. and Florence L. (Lee) Poling and was a graduate of Whitney Vocational High School. Nettie worked as an executive secretary with Yellow Freight for over ten years and with IML for over 5 years. She was a creative and gifted individual who co-owned with her husband, Denim Delites, which was a women’s western wear store where Nettie designed and sewed the clothing and accessories. She loved decorating her home, painting wall hangings, sewing and crocheting many things to display. She enjoyed boating, fishing, and gardening and was a member of the Toledo Police Retirees Organization thru her husband’s career.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Richard T. Gargas; children, Deborah (John) Christiansen, Richelle Gargas, Richard T. (Lisa) Gargas, Jr., Robert Gargas and Rhonda (Robert) Jackman and grandchildren, Chad, Ryan, Brenna, Lorissa, Shanna, Matthew, Tyler, Jennifer and Julia. Nettie was preceded in death by her parents.
Family and friends may visit from 2-8 pm on Sunday, February 16, 2014 in the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon. Visitation will continue on Monday after 10 am where the Funeral Service will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the St. Charles Cancer Center.
