Neil H. Johnson, 94, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Orchard Villa. He was born on September 9, 1920 in Ironville to Christian and Bertha Johnson. Neil was a graduate of Clay High School and served in the U.S. Air Force, during WWII. He retired from Sun Oil with over 25 years of service. Neil was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and volunteered for many years at St. Charles Hospital. He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan.
Neil is survived by his loving daughter, Mary (Richard Barraco) Johnson; granddaughter, Katie Johnson and sister, Marjorie Staskiewicz. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Caroleen and his brothers, Bob and Warren.
Friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd. in Oregon on Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 2-7 p.m. where a scripture service will be held at 5 p.m. Funeral services will begin on Monday in the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. and continue on with the Funeral Mass at St. Ignatius Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Ignatius Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
