Nathan Alan Brinkman Sr.

Nathan Brinkman Sr., age 73 of Oregon, passed away at home on March 10, 2025. Nathan was born to Ned and Jeanette (Clark) Brinkman on December 21, 1951. Nathan was a 1970 Waite High School graduate and went on to work as a journeyman Boilermaker for Local 85. He spent over 30 years with Hans Hansen before working with Ironhead Fabricating and then spent 4 years working out of the hall.

Nathan was a devoted husband and father. He and his wife Linda were married in 1971. Together, they raised their boys and lived a faith-filled life. They ran a bed and breakfast, “B&B Railroad Depot” in Oregon, Ohio and in retirement loved to travel together. Linda passed away in January of this year.

He was a quiet leader who led by example and treated everyone with love, honor, and respect. Nathan stayed busy with his hobbies and loved to tinker and build things. He was a train enthusiast, both model trains and his replica train in his yard that he enjoyed giving rides to anyone who stopped by.

Nathan is survived by sons Nathan (Sylvia) Brinkman II, Neal (Robin) Brinkman, and Todd (Mandi) Brinkman; grandchildren Lucie-Mae, Makena, Haddasah, Wyatt, Olivia, Harvey, Isabella, Alicia, Alivia, Aiden, Cecilia, Xavier; siblings Thomas (Mary), Lauretta (Daniel), Wanda (Gary), Jonathan (Peggy), Phillip (Joyce), Daniel, Phyllis (David), Joyce (Dave), Stephen (Tammy), Marcia (Greg) and over 100 nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda; son, Chad; parents, Ned and Jeanette; and nephew, Jason.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S Wynn Rd. in Oregon, Ohio. A funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., with Pastor Larry Vriezelaar officiating. Burial will follow at North Oregon Cemetery.

There will be a celebration of life held at Hope Community Church, 5650 Starr Ext. Oregon, Ohio directly after the funeral
