Naomi Katharine Foss, 89, of Oregon, Ohio passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the Bayshore Commons of Orchard Villa. She was born on October 1, 1921 in Curtice, Ohio to John and Johanna Hansen. Naomi was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed baking, especially peanut bars, and crafting, including doll making, she made over 1,000 dolls. Naomi loved to sew making her clothes and clothes for her children. She will be dearly missed.
Naomi is survived by her loving daughters, Emily Kruse and Gretchen (Tom) Tedrow; grandsons, Steven (Tina), Neil (Carmen) and Alex (Tina) Tedrow and granddaughter, JoEllyn (Doug) Yoder; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, John (Linda) Hansen and sister, Ann Neiderhauser. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; brother, James Hansen and sister, Marcella Murphey.
Family and friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Sunday, September 11, 2011 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Blackberry Corners, 17877 W State Rte 579 Martin, Ohio where the family will receive guests one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Elliston Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Blackberry.
