Miriam A. Meyers, 81, of Walbridge, OH, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021 in her home. She was born February 2, 1940 in Fort Wayne, IN to Catherine and Charles Strause. She was a baker and retired from Link’s Cafeteria after 20 years. After her retirement, she became a caregiver/super-grandma to many of her grandchildren. Miriam enjoyed cooking, baking, camping, and fishing. She especially cherished hosting the holidays with her family and loved ones. She was an avid Bunco player with her long-term group of friends, including Cheryl McAllister, her very best friend.
Miriam is survived by her husband of 65 years, Jerry Meyers, Sr.; her children, Jerry Meyers Jr., Karen Ginter, Christina Cortez, Scott (Tina) Meyers, and Denise (Charles) Rose. Miriam was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Eugene (June) Strause, Leon (Fran) Strause, Mildred Welch and Sr. Angeline Bialicki; and her grandson, Sgt. David Jastrzenski III.
Miriam’s selflessness continues even beyond her death as she donated her body to science education and medical research at the University of Toledo Medical Center. A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at St. Jerome Parish Hall, 300 Warner St., Walbridge, OH. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to any veterans’ service organization. Arrangements entrusted to Freck Funeral Chapel.
