Miriam E. Kamann, age 95, of Oregon, Ohio passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Kingston Rehabilitation of Perrysburg. She was born on October 31, 1929 in Cloverdale, Ohio to Michael and Pauline (Pittner) Burgei. Miriam was married to Norman Kamann for 61 years and was a stay-at-home mom. In her, spare time, she loved to make cakes for every occasion, especially weddings. She worked for the Toledo Board of Education for 15 years, retiring in 2005. Miriam was a former member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church where she served as treasurer of the Altar Rosary Society for 23 years. Miriam is a current member of St. Jerome Catholic Church.
Miriam lived her faith with acts of love, kindness, and generosity. She enjoyed listening to music and spending time with family, especially holidays and vacations. She always opened her home for family get togethers, the more the merrier. Holding babies always brought a smile to her face. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Miriam is survived by her children, Kathleen (Fred) Fikel, Elaine Vuyk, Lawrence (Robin) Kamann, Janet (Matt) Armstrong, Sandra (Don) Brock, John Kamann, Robert Kamann, Gerald (Susan) Kamann, Sheila (John) Mildon, and Diana Kamann; 25 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, three great great-grandchildren; and sister, Dorothy (Kahle), and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Norman; brothers, Hilary, Paul, and Lawrence Burgei; sisters, Annette Kromer, Margaret Maas, Helen Koester, Louise Burgei, Anges King, and twin sister Mildred Pollick; son-in-law, Edward Vuyk; daughter-in-law, Candice Kamann; and her grandson, Zachary Mildon.
Family and friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel on Sunday, January 5, 2025, from 2-8:00 p.m. where the recitation of the rosary will take place at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday at St. Jerome Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Additional visitation will be held from 10-11:00 a.m. at Church. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jerome Catholic Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
