Mildred, our mother was raised on a small farm in Curtice, OH. She was the middle child of nine siblings.  Ruth (Donald) Mallett is her only living sister and sister in laws include: Dorothy Habegger and Laura, Pauline, Edna and Betty Panning and brother-in-law Bruce Waters.   At 34 she married Fredrick Panning.  Mom and Dad lovingly raised four children:  Raymond (Beverly) Panning, Linda (Wayne) Bauman, Julia Bourdo, and Jane (Dennis) Kreischer.
Growing up we were raised in a Christian Family where our family and friends were at the center of our home.  Our mother loved life, loved her family and friends, and her grandchildren were her pride and joy that includes:  Ray’s children: Jessica (Tom) Smith, Joe (Andrea) Panning, and Marie (Matthew) Stewart   Linda Bauman’s children: Nicholas (Jamie) and Matthew (Angela), Julia Bourdo’s children: Scott (Jami) and Skip, Jane Kresicher’s children: Katlyn, Taylor, and Racquel.  Her great-grandchildren include: Aspen, Ciara, Bailey, Dryden, Landon, Mason, Brodi, Selah, Loren, Lilllian, and Avery.  Mom loved company and we will be forever grateful to Dee Mestqousis for her lasting friendship. A special thank you to Dr. & Ms. Sydney Fernandes, Dr. Richard Wolff, The Lutheran Home Assisted Living staff, Senior Independence Hospice Care and especially Jenny and Patty.  We will be forever grateful for the extraordinary loving care of our mother that these individuals provided over the years.
As we were growing up, many family gatherings were held at our home, where family and friends joined for food, fun and cards. Mom was famous for her sugar cookies and home cooked meals. Our conversations over the years were never about her, but her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Her sense of humor was still alive on her final night, where she was surrounded by her family.  She is now home!
Donations can be given in lieu of flowers to St. John’s Lutheran Church and Senior Independence Hospice.
