Michael Eugene Howard

Michael Eugene Howard, 72, of Northwood Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on March 15th, 2023. Michael was born on January 12th to Eugene and Dolores in Toledo, Ohio. In 1969, Michael met Sandra, and they wed in 1972, going on to have 2 children, Lucas and Matthew. He also had 3 grandchildren that he absolutely adored; Nadia, Katrina, and Michael.

Over the years Michael cherished the time he was able to travel with friends and family, especially his beloved wife. His favorite two destinations were Tennessee and Las Vegas. Michael spent his time going to his grandchildren’s events, from dance to cheer to cross country to basketball. He never missed an event. You could find him sitting in the stands, cheering and clapping for every person. You could also find him on Saturday mornings, strolling the market; often buying his favorite items; bread and jam. He also loved gambling, the casino, and the horse track. He was involved politically with the Democratic party, often writing to politicians seeking policy changes. He loved everyone and everyone loved him. He cherished his family and enjoyed every minute he could spend with them all. He knew how to make others laugh, feel loved and supported. There was no love like the love that Michael shared with those closest to him. He played such an influential part in others’ lives; especially his brothers. He was able to change lives just by coming in contact with him. He will dearly be missed by all.

Michael was predeceased by his parents, Eugene and Dolores. He is survived by his wife (Sandra), 2 sons (Lucas and Matthew), daughter-in-law (Dannelle), 3 grandchildren (Nadia, Katrina, Michael), and 5 brothers and 1 sister (Jeff, Pat, Marty, Andy, David, and Kelly), among nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their care and compassion.

A memorial service will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel,1155 S. Wynn Rd. Oregon, OH on Friday, March 24, 2023, from 1p-3p, with a service immediately after.  Family would like to invite friends and family to gather for a luncheon following the service from 345p-630pm at Christ Dunberger American Legion Post, 4925 Pickle Rd. Oregon, OH
