Michael J. Encheff, 81, of Genoa, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at his home. He was born May 22, 1935 to parents Kineo and Mary (Valcheff) Encheff. Michael was a 1953 graduate of Woodward High School and honorably served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Michael had a tireless work ethic and in 1957 began his 21 year career with NY Central Railroad. While working for the railroad, he began his 20 year career with Dana in 1966 as an Inspector. In his spare time he loved to cook, watch old movies and listen to music especially Big Band music. Michael was a member of Augsburg Lutheran Church and volunteered at Mercy St. Charles Hospital. He loved animals and cherished times spent with his family especially his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Judith (Wyman) Encheff; son, Nick (Cammy) Encheff; daughter, Jenna Encheff; grandchildren, Alexa and Jack; sister, Rose Bodeman along with many dear in-laws, nieces and nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at the Freck Funeral Chapel from 2 – 5 p.m. where services will begin at 5 p.m.  Burial will be private.  Memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society of Sandusky County, Humane Ohio or Augsburg Lutheran Church. www.freckchapel.com
