MELVIN JOSEPH GUERIN
Melvin J. Guerin, 66, of Oregon, Ohio passed away Saturday, December 7, 2013, at his home. He was born in Toledo on February 9, 1947, to Robert and Lucille (Herzig) Guerin and was a 1965 graduate of Waite High School. Mel honorably served our country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and was married November 1, 1968 to Nancy Wallington. For over 44 years, Mel worked for BP as a boilermaker and an equipment operator. In his spare time, he loved to golf, fly his stunt kites and play with his grandkids
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Nancy Guerin; children, Robert Guerin, Jennifer (Matthew) Mabbitt, Laurie (Jason) Arant, Daniel (Heather) Guerin and Jonathan (Sunny) Guerin; grandchildren, Zachary, Brandon, Nathen, Matthew, Noah, Reagan, Eden, Hannah, Jeremiah, Carter and Logan; and sister, Nancy Haas. Mel was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Guerin.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S Wynn Rd., Oregon on Tuesday, December 10, 2013, from 2-8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Community Church, 5650 Starr Avenue in Oregon where the family will receive guests one hour prior. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
