Melissa Renee Laforge

Melissa “Mimi” Renee Laforge, age 31 of Toledo, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Mimi was born on December 5, 1990, in Toledo.

Mimi was a beautiful woman, inside and out. She was always looking her best, doing her makeup, applying her signature red lipstick, curling her hair, and making sure her eyebrows were “on fleek.” She was a selfless soul who would go above and beyond for anyone, especially those she loved. She was always cooking, whether it was for a get-together with family and friends, or for her fiancé, Michael “Geezy” Gomez, Jr., “the boys,” and her princess, Sienna. Her family was her everything. Mimi’s fiancé was the love of her life and made her the happiest woman on earth, and loved him with all her heart and soul. Her daughter was her world, and she loved taking her shopping, buying her toys, and getting Starbucks together. Her dog, Mercedes, or as she lovingly called her, “Sadie Sue,” was also a big part of her life, and part of her wonderful family.

Mimi is survived by her mother, Dawn Montoya; father, Raimundo Ramirez;  step-father, Karl Veler; daughter, Sienna; fiancé, Michael “Geezy” Gomez, Jr.; sisters, Samantha Szymczak, Rochelle Laforge, and Star Ridgley; brother, Jason Hutchison; in-laws, Rita Garcia and Michael “Pops” Gomez, Sr. Also surviving are lots of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved and special sister, Dominique Laforge; and her grandpa, David Laforge.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Friday, March 18, 2022, from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery in Oregon. Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
