Mary Steinmetz, 92, of Walbridge, Oh. passed away at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg on Friday, April 18, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born in Liberty Center, Oh. to Pearl and Pauline Creager on June 8, 1921. She was married to Bernard Steinmetz for 48 years. Mary enjoyed doing crafts, especially fabric art. She was a dedicated volunteer at many hospitals.
Mary is survived by her children: Jon (Diana) Steinmetz, Paulette (George) Johnson, Thomas (Karen) Steinmetz; grandchildren: Jon Steinmetz, Jr., Beth (Tim) Broka, Thomas Steinmetz, Jr., Nicholas Steinmetz, Alexandra Steinmetz, David Cole; great-grandchildren: Samantha and Nicole Steinmetz, Shelby, Chase and Paige Broka; siblings, Kathryn (Don) Westhoven, Kenneth (Phyllis) Creager, Maxine Kaminska; sister-in-law, Janet Creager. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bernard; daughter, Martine Steinmetz; brother, Jon Creager; sister, Betty (Mac) McPherson and brother-in-law, Carl Kaminska.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Monday, April 21, 2014 from 5-7 pm. followed by a Memorial Service at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
