Mary Lee Dauer, 77, slipped the bonds of this lifeand went to receive the reward she so richly deserves at the side of her Lordand Savior, Jesus Christ, in Paradise. Herbeloved Husband, Son, Daughter-in-Law, Grandchildren, Brother and Sisterssurrounded her with love as she quietly passed.
Mary wasborn in Manitou, KY. on December 24, 1934 to Robert and Ada (Shipp) Matney. She married Stanley K. Dauer on July 14, 1956and they were together for 55 years.
Mary spent her working life in the food serviceindustry. Some of her best working yearswere spent at Jones’ Confectionary on Nevada St. in East Toledo. Sheworked there for her dear friends, Dorothy and Dana Jones. After the closing of Jones’ she eventuallyended up in Toledo Public Schools as a cafeteria worker. She retired from Libbey High School’s cafeteria. Mary was always a popular “lunch lady”.
In retirement Mary especially enjoyedtraveling. She made many bus trips withher sisters and friends and even made a trip to China. Herbiggest joy in life, however was being “Mimi” to her two beloved grandchildren. No one could have ever asked for a better Mom or Mimi.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents andbrother, Richard. Left to cherish hermemory are her loving Husband, of 55 years, Stan (Kenny), her Son, Don and hiswife (favorite Daughter-in-Law) Joyce, her beloved grandsons, Drew and Joel,Brother Gene Matney and her two Sisters (and best friends) Dorothy Trost andWilma Monday. Our family‘s deepestappreciation is extended to Rev. David Bartley for the comfort he offered inher final days and to her recently ”adopted”kids Tim and Dawn Yard, just for being there.
