Mary Jane (Bennett) Bermudez

Mary Jane Bermudez, 75, of Toledo, passed away January 28, 2020 surrounded by her family at Heartland of Perrysburg. She was born June 19, 1944 to Robert W., Sr. and Geneva “Jean” (Coblentz) Bennett. Mary Jane spent a lot of her time volunteering for her church, Epiphany of the Lord Parish – St. Thomas Aquinas Church. She also donated much of her time to Helping Hands of St. Louis. Mary Jane always made her family her top priority and even took care of her sister, Alice. In her free time, she loved to garden and watch her rose bushes bloom. She also made time for one of her favorite pastimes: playing Bingo every week.

Mary Jane is survived by her sons, Gilbert Bermudez and John Bermudez; sisters, Sandy Bennett, Barbara Vargo, and Ethel Snyder; many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Crystal (Stripling) Bermudez; siblings, Robert W. Bennett, Jr., Alice Bennett-Salas, Joe Bennett; several amazing cats, most notably, Frisky, Sunshine, and Smokey; and her favorite dog, Rex.

A funeral Mass will be held at Epiphany of the Lord Parish – St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 729 White Street in Toledo on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with the family to receive guests after 10:00 a.m. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
