Marjorie Celia Mangus age 88, formerly of Oregon passed away at Genacross at Wolf Creek on Wednesday, November 4, 2020. Marjorie was born in the Ironville area in Toledo, Ohio on August 27, 1932 to Elonzo and Jennie (Bennett) Shaner. She was a longtime member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Marjorie loved to take care of people. Everyone who was around her was fed and cared for. She was a Godly woman and was devoted to her husband, Robert who preceded her in death in 2001. Marjorie loved to talk on the telephone, her husband jokingly referred to it as a “hotline”. She would listen to everyone’s problems without adding in her own. Marjorie was a wonderful caring friend to everyone she met and will be deeply missed.
Marjorie is survived by her daughters Diane Schultz and Shirley Schulz; sister Molly Vardaman; 5 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandson and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Robert she was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Barbara Smith, infant daughter Donna Sue, great-grandson Robert and 5 siblings.
A graveside service will be held at Lake Township Cemetery on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 10 a.m. Memorial contributions are appreciated to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
