Marjorie L. Burgess, age 70, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Monday, January 12, 2015 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. Marge was born on October 10, 1944 and resided in Oregon for 47 years with her loving husband, William R. Burgess, where they raised 4 children. She devoted her life to her husband and family and was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was loved by many and was often called a second mother to all her children’s friends. She welcomed everyone with open arms especially the neighborhood kids where they regularly came to swim. She was passionate about sewing and a wonderful cook. She had many recipes that she has passed along with great pride. She also adored her beloved dog, Buddy and proudly rode around with him on her lap.
Marjorie is survived by her children: William R. Burgess, Jr., Christina Burgess and Michael (Lisa) Burgess; sister, Patricia (Bruce) Tarsek; grandchildren, Billy, Dana (Mike), Desiree, Nicholas, Megan, Macy and Mark; great-grandchildren, Madison, Brock, Boston, Breah, Landen, Cassidy and Sierra, life-long friends, Sue Northrop and Cathy Krieger, many brother and sister-in-laws and nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William R. Burgess Sr. of 38 years, mother, Mary, sisters, Shirley and Sharon; daughter, Brenda; grandson, Matthew and nephews, Mark and Todd.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd, Oregon, on Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 2-8 p.m. The funeral Mass will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church on Friday at 10:30 a.m. where the family will greet guests after 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at N. Oregon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
