Maria Schwarz, 88, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 6, 1928 in Chodau, Czechoslovakia to Alois and Ludmilla (Schug) Zuber. Maria was married to Frederick J. Schwarz for 50 years until his passing. She enjoyed cooking, particularly baking, reading, listening to classical music and watching her favorite movies. Maria was a long time member of Faith United Methodist Church. Above anything she loved time spent with her family and they will miss her deeply.
She is survived by her children, Helen Young, Susan (Fred Jager) Sturgill and Frederick (Anna) Schwarz; grandchildren, Allison Sturgill, Erica Sturgill, Gabriele Schwarz, Erik Young, Andraya Young and Eli Schwarz and great-grandson, Jazz; as well as many other family and friends. Maria was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son-in-law, David Babcock; sisters, Erna Kucharova and Ella Wanger and brothers, Vincent Zuber, Alfred Zuber and Antonio Zuber.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Freck Funeral Chapel. As per Maria’s wishes services and burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith United Methodist Church 3415 Starr Ave. Oregon, OH. 43616.
