Margarita Cousino age 77 of Bono passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021, peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Maggie was born to George and Andrea (Mendoza) Villarreal Sr. in Lyford, Texas on May 25, 1943. She received her associate's degree from Stautzenberger College and worked as a medical assistant for many years before retirement. Maggie loved to help people and would always be there to support those she loved. Her family was everything to her and she was devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Maggie is survived by her sons Joseph Martinez, Peter Martinez, and Nicholas Martinez, grandchildren Amanda Martinez, Ashley Martinez, Mercedes (Tom) Burge, Peter Martinez and Peter Korn-Martinez, 11 great-grandchildren; siblings Elidia (Robert) Moreno, Andrea Espino, George (Maria Lupita) Villarreal, Aureliano (Dalia) Villarreal, Gloria Arndt, Alicia (Mike) Mominee, Frank (Cindy) Villarreal, Diane (Ben) Archibeque, Robert (Anna) Villarreal, Daniel (Debra) Villarreal and Eddie (Laura) Villarreal and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe Martinez, and son Paul Martinez.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, from 9 a.m. until the time of prayers at 12:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Bono at 1 p.m. following the morning visitation at the funeral home. A private burial will be held at Clay Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
