Margaret Rose Teresa Virag-Mendoza

Margaret Rose Teresa Virag-Mendoza, 85, of Oregon, Ohio passed away at her home on October 27, 2024. She was born on October 18, 1939, to Joseph and Elizabeth (Pier) Virag in Toledo, Ohio. A 1957 graduate of Central Catholic High School, Margaret would go on to meet and marry Jose Luis Mendoza. They would raise five children together and celebrate 63 years of marriage before his passing in 2022. 

Margaret was a STNA, and worked for over 30 years. She was a strong Hungarian woman and was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church. Margaret enjoyed cooking and embroidery. She was also passionate about completing puzzles. 

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Anita (Nickie) Mendoza, Veronica (Dan) Heuring, Tori (John Kosztak) Mendoza, Paula (Dennis Prebe) Mendoza, and Jennifer (Albert) Sanchez; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; stepbrother, Edward Pier, and special thanks to her caring nursing aid, Diana Hoskins. She was preceded in death by her husband Jose, her parents, brothers, Robert, Joseph, and William Virag and sister, Betty Kelley. 

Funeral services were held at Freck Funeral Chapel. Entombment followed at Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in Margaret’s memory can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio .
