Marcellus A. Bodi

July 3, 1943 — March 30, 2022

Marcellus A. Bodi, age 78 of Walbridge, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at Orchard Villa in Oregon. He was born on July 3, 1943 in Toledo to Norman and Pearl (Harris) Bodi. He graduated from Macomber High School in 1961. He worked for the Local 6 and 33 as a sheet metal worker for 48 years, and was also a certified welder.

At the young age of five in kindergarten, he met a young gal by the name of Sandy. Sometime later, in 1964, they got married and had spent 58 wonderful, loving years together. They raised two children, Jason and Michelle, and helped raise their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, too. He also enjoyed sports; he played football, baseball, was a pitcher in softball, basketball and a few others. He coached baseball for years. He coached his son since he was old enough to play, and he and his daughter coached the boys as well. The Buckeyes were his all-time favorite team, and would watch and cheer for them whenever he could.

Marcellus was a man who, if he could, would spend all day fishing, day and night. If he was awake and able, he was fishin’. He fished for anything from perch or salmon. When he was younger, he would hunt as well. He had wild game dinners and fish fries with his family. His time with his family was very important to him. He wanted to be with them every waking moment. Marcellus’ family was his everything and he made sure they knew how much they were loved. He will be so dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Marcellus is survived by his loving wife, Sandy; children, Jason (Mary) and Michelle (Tim); grandchildren, Miguel, Juan (Ashley), Marcos (Krysta), Devyn (Cassie) and River; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Marcos, Mateo, Juan, Jonah, and Melody; sister, Paula (Ray); and good friend and fishing buddy, Bill Shank. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Pearl; siblings, Owanna, Norm, Coralyn, and Jane Ann; and his grandparents, Nobe and Cora Chevalier.
