Luz Juany Ozuna

Luz Juany Ozuna, age 30 of Northwood, Ohio passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023, at UTMCO. Luz was born to Juan Francisco Ozuna and Luz O. Hiraldo de Ozuna on July 12, 1992, in the Dominican Republic. Luz was a 2010 graduate of Lake High School and completed her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Toledo in 2015. She had worked for Lucas County Children Services as a social worker for the past 9 years. Luz was a happy, fun, kind person who loved children and was a proud dog mom to Oliver.
Luz enjoyed singing, makeup, Korean culture and entertainment, her church time, hanging out with family and friends, eating at Olive Garden and Panera Bread. She also loved music, went to concerts, attended the Poets in Autumn events, reading, writing/blogging, and loved caring for and teaching children at her church.
She enjoyed the constant communication with her family and friends, always checking up on their well-being. She also dearly loved her god-daughter and niece. She was always cheerful and loving, even through poor health. She impacted many through her dedication, efforts, and commitment.
Luz is survived by her loving parents Juan Francisco Ozuna and Luz O. Hiraldo de Ozuna; brother Orfrancis (Brittany) Ozuna; sister Jessica (Adam) Ozuna Rios; niece Nyrobi O. Ozuna; grandparents Maria Fernandez and Secundino Hiraldo, many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Amable Ozuna, Georgina Santa Maria, Andrés Rodriguez, great-grandparents Carlos Fernandez, Rafaela Garcia, Luz Ureña, Angel Hiraldo, uncles Nehemias Ureña, Dario Fernandez and aunt Carmen Ozuna.
Friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel at 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon, Ohio on Saturday, January 21, 2023, from 5 until 8 p.m. Funeral services will begin on Sunday at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Lake Township Cemetery followed by a reception at Christ Dunberger Post 537 at 4925 Pickle Rd. in Oregon, Oh. Memorial contributions are appreciated by the family.


Luz Juany Ozuna, de 30 años de Northwood, Ohio, falleció el sábado 14 de enero de 2023 en UTMCO. Luz nació de Juan Francisco Ozuna y Luz O. Hiraldo de Ozuna el 12 de julio de 1992 en la República Dominicana. Luz se graduó en 2010 de Lake High School y completó su Licenciatura en Trabajo Social de la Universidad de Toledo en 2015. Trabajó para los Servicios Infantiles del Condado de Lucas como trabajadora social durante los últimos 9 años. Luz era una persona alegre, divertida y amable que amaba a los niños y era una orgullosa madre canina para Oliver.

Luz disfrutó del canto, el maquillaje, la cultura y el entretenimiento coreanos, su tiempo en la iglesia, salir con familiares y amigos, comer en Olive Garden y Panera Bread. También le encantaba la música, iba a conciertos, asistía a los eventos de Poetas en Otoño, leía, escribía y blogueaba, y le encantaba cuidar y enseñar a los niños de su iglesia.

Disfrutó de la comunicación constante con su familia y amigos, siempre pendiente de su bienestar. También amaba mucho a su ahijada ya su sobrina. Ella siempre fue alegre y cariñosa, incluso a través de la mala salud. Ella impactó a muchos a través de su dedicación, esfuerzo y compromiso.

A Luz le sobreviven sus amados padres Juan Francisco Ozuna y Luz O. Hiraldo de Ozuna; hermano Orfrancis (Brittany) Ozuna; hermana Jessica (Adam) Ozuna Ríos; sobrina Nyrobi O. Ozuna; abuelos María Fernández y Secundino Hiraldo, muchas tías, tíos y primos. Le precedieron en la muerte sus abuelos Amable Ozuna, Georgina Santa María, Andrés Rodríguez, bisabuelos Carlos Fernández, Rafaela García, Luz Ureña, Ángel Hiraldo, tíos Nehemías Ureña, Darío Fernández y tía Carmen Ozuna.

Los amigos pueden visitar Freck Funeral Chapel en 1155 S. Wynn Rd en Oregon, Ohio el sábado 21 de enero de 2023, de 5 a 8 p.m. Los servicios funerarios comenzarán el domingo a las 10 a.m. El entierro será en el cementerio de Lake Township seguido de una recepción en Christ Dunberger Post 537 en 4925 Pickle Rd. en Oregón, Oh. Las contribuciones conmemorativas son apreciadas por la familia.
